Student Ambassador Program

About the Opportunity

Prima Tech understands and appreciates the value of higher learning and the importance of quality supplies in the laboratory setting. In an effort to supply those tools on campuses, Prima Tech USA has launched their Product Ambassador Program at 16 select universities throughout North America. Students chosen as Product Ambassadors will attend specialized training sessions, where they will use the Prima Tech products that they will be sharing with their university. They will also attend professional development workshops on being a successful ambassador at their university as well as having one-on-one contact with industry representatives in their chosen career field. Additionally, ambassadors will be compensated with a $1,000 honorarium upon completion of the program.

Prima Tech Welcomes Six Product Ambassadors to the Team

About Prima Tech: Prima Tech specializes in developing and marketing durable reliable animal health applicators. The team is skilled in designing, producing and marketing applicators that focus on the needs of the end user.

Purpose: Prima Tech is looking for a Campus Ambassador. The purpose of our student ambassador program is for students to promote Prima Tech products on their campus and act as a liaison between key faculty contacts and Prima Tech.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including but not limited to the following

  • Contact and communicate with campus farm managers to supply and educate them on usage of Prima Tech products.
  • Identify classes and organizations on campus whose students would incorporate Prima Tech products for personal and scholastic use.
  • Deliver presentations to appropriate classes and organizations, informing students and faculty/staff about Prima Tech.
  • Build and maintain a database/organizational chart of herdsmen, personnel, and faculty on campus whom the ambassador has connected with during the year.
  • Prepare weekly activity journal reports of time and activities.
  • Respond to emails or telephone calls as needed.
  • Participate in final ambassador presentation.
  • Represent Prima Tech Company and products on campus fairly and accurately.

Qualifications

Campus ambassadors must have excellent personal, social, public speaking and writing skills; ability to demonstrate leadership; and express a willingness to devote the time and energy required to promote Prima Tech products on their campus. Ambassadors must also be able to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Applicants will be accepted from the following universities:
    • Auburn University
    • NC State University
    • Mississippi State University
    • University of Florida
    • University of Georgia
    • University of Tennessee
  • Knowledgeable of the Internet
  • Excellent Public Speaking Skills
  • Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must be currently enrolled in an animal science, agriculture business or related major with a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Time Commitment:

As an ambassador, students devote four hours per week towards the program. The position is for October 2011 – April 2012. Ambassadors must be able to attend training session at Prima Tech corporate headquarters, travel expenses will be provided.

Compensation:

Students selected, as liaisons will have excellent opportunities to further develop personal, social, and communication skills, and have direct contact with industry representatives in the career field they are pursing. Such development will have positive effects upon achieving intended professional career goals. In addition, students will be provided an honorarium amount of $1,000.00 upon successful completion of the program.
