Kim Quinn founded Prima Tech USA in November, 1996. The company was first named VAC-PAC, Inc. and was run out of a spare bedroom in Kim’s home. VAC-PAC, Inc. sold VAC-PAC™ bottle holders for animal vaccines, as well as two different types of animal health vaccinators. In those early days, Kim traveled to hog farms and sold products out of the trunk of his car.
Within a year, the company grew enough to move to a one room office in Kenansville, North Carolina. In its second year, the company grew again. Prima Tech USA expanded to two rooms, and then to a larger shared office with warehouse space in Warsaw, North Carolina. By this time, the company sold replacement parts for vaccinators, in addition to bottle holders and new vaccinators.
In 1998, a new company, KMQ, Inc. was formed. The new company, a distribution organization, offered an expanded product line. This included artificial insemination catheters and animal livestock markers, sold under the KMQ brand name.
In 2000, the Prima Tech line of vaccinators was introduced and VAC-PAC, Inc. became Prima Tech USA.
In May 2002, Prima Tech moved to a larger facility on Faison McGowan Road, near Kenansville, North Carolina.
In 2003, Prima Tech USA began to manufacture the complete Prima Tech line of vaccinators in its North Carolina facility. To this day, all of our vaccinators are assembled, tested and packed in this modern facility.
In August of 2005, KMQ, Inc. and Prima Tech USA merged to form KMQ, Inc., which does business as Prima Tech USA. The merger allows us to focus on development, manufacture and marketing of reliable products for the animal health industry.
